Cats eyes shine at night because of the light reflected by the tapetum lucidum, a layer of glittering cells forming a large part of the inner eye behind the retina. Below is a picture of my eyes reflecting the light of the camera flash. When we’re in the dark, and some light hits our eyes, it seems as if our eyes are glowing!

Check out my self-portrait, Andy Warhol style! I’m actually quite proud of this. Photoshop rules! Take, that other cats that paint! (See the article about painting cats in our blog) I’m the first cat that I know of that’s mastered Adobe Photoshop. I applied various filters to my original picture, which you can see below. The final steps were achieved with either the notebook paper filter or the photocopy filter.
Andy Warhol actually loved cats and we were a favorite subject of his. Check out a delightful book of his cat art below:
