Happy 20th Birthday, Max!
We were very honored to be invited to Max’s virtual birthday party in celebration of his 20th birthday!
His mom, writer and editor Leah A. Zeldes, suspects that he may be a furry alien, and wrote a very clever essay about that which appears in Cat Women: Female Writers and Their Female Friends. We posted an excerpt from her essay a while back which you can read here.

What a beautiful kitty! And he’s 20? That’s amazing! He’s a very very young looking 20. We just went and read all about him, but we didn’t see a place to leave comments. Maybe we missed it? Our Lady is friends with our neighbor’s Birman kitty, who looks exactly like Max but fatter. We don’t know the neighbor kitty’s name, so the Lady calls him “Barrel” because that’s what his tummy looks like. Birmans are gorgeous!

I know, he’s our new friend. Very handsome 20. He doesn’t have a comments section (we were looking for that at first, too!), but there is an email link at the very bottom of the page where you can email him a birthday greeting, which is what we meant.
