With the Pet Food crisis simmering down, pet food recalls and relevant issues are no longer front page news. So, what’s the best way for a concerned pet parent to keep track of what’s going on? Even it’s no longer a crisis, it’s still important to keep a watchful eye.
We unfortunately don’t have the time to post up-to-date information, so we compiled links to sites that do have the most recent news. We’ve created a page which you can access by clicking on “Pet Food Recall Information” on the right side navigation bar —>
So visit our Pet Food Recall Information Page for a list of very informative links as well as a list of recalled cat food as of June 7, 2007.
Together we can all make pet food safer and keep it that way!

I’m taking a brief rest after my online work! Whew, I do love the warmth of the laptop keys. Purrrrrr. Anyway, our friend Sharolyn over at the fabulous new blog Artsy Catsy posted this comment about the review we received back in August of 2006 (mentioned in our post which you can read here). Thanks for the support! We loved the comment so much that we wanted to make it a post and Sharolyn kindly gave us permission. We cat bloggers have to stick together!

| Kudos, Juli, for your informative, well-researched post! I’ve recently launched our ArtsyCatsy “character blog” through the voices of our fifteen (yes, 15!) cats as an adjunct to our upcoming business website, an e-commerce site offering a wide variety of cat-themed original artist creations.
I think that over time, many of the critics will reverse their opinions about blogs written by our cats, particulary when those blogs, like yours and mine, are intended to put a personal face on our businesses. Why? Because blogs by cats are read by cat lovers, businesses like ours cater to cat lovers … and all you have to do is LISTEN to a cat lover! We speak CAT; we talk to our cats in a language a non-cat-lover would never understand. We communicate with our cats as if they are our children (they are!) and they talk right back to us!
I defy anyone to find a non-cat-lover who would ever utter something like, “Ooh, my wootsie pootsie Callie-walley bootsie toots,” or come home from work and snuggle up in bed with their pet lizard to tell it about their rotten day.
Therefore, our cat “character blogs” are speaking in our readers’ and customers’ language, one they not only only understand, but speak and respond to every day of their lives.
Sure, we can pepper our posts with a human voice every now and then, but cat lovers communicate with their kitties constantly, and it’s obvious by the number of popular cat blogs out there that they enjoy communicating with others’ cats online.
I don’t think cat-oriented sites fit into the mold, so I can’t agree with the criticism you’ve received that a cat character blog could lose sales that you might have received with a strictly informative blog. Have you ever walked into a retail store that has cats running around as mascots? If you’re a cat lover, the first thing you do is talk with the cats, and the second thing you do is become a loyal customer of that business!
Some think cat lovers are a bit weird; some may think we’re downright twisted; but one thing is certain - we “click” and we bond … with our cats, with others’ cats, with stray cats, and with each other. And just as a business in America is wise to speak to its customers in English, not Farsi or Greek, I think a business catering to cat lovers is wise to blog to its customers in their own native language!
And my cat, Rocky, says, “Right on, Meowmie!!” |

Hey guys! That’s me, Bambi, taking a rest in the nice sun after doing some work. Here’s a longish sort of post with lots of stuff to catch up! We’re recommending a new blog, introducing a new cat cartoon book, and going over some cat news headlines!
Many of you have already met them, but Rocky (the CEO aka Cat Executive Officer) and fourteen other formerly feral cats has a great new blog called Artsy Catsy about cats like us who run e-commerce! Good luck with starting the business! Let us know more about how to order portraits, etc, and we can link from our e-commerce site!
If you haven’t been to see them yet, check out their blog at http://artsycatsy.blogspot.com/
In other news, there is a very fun new cartoon collection for women who love cats, called ”My Cat Loves Me Naked” by Stephanie Piro - check out her website at http://www.stephaniepiro.com/ or buy her book at Barnes & Noble by clicking on the link below!

My Cat Loves Me Naked
If you still need a calendar for 2007, check out our calendar store for lots of calendars with cats!
In cat news from around the world, here’s some headlines that caught our attention involving us fabulous felines:
An, ahem, big-boned kitty was caught stuck in a doggie door looking for food! Luckily, the people that lived in the house were very kind, got him out, gave him food, and took him to a shelter.
A cat missing for 7 months comes home! Kimba, an African jungle cat hybrid, had been missing since June. His owner cried herself to sleep and lost 50 pounds walking around the canyons looking for him! Sniff, sniff. We just love reunion stories like this!
On a more serious note, we found an interesting article about antidepressants for cats (& dogs, birds, horses, and other animals). Check out the LA Times article, “Fido’s Little Helper”>>
Leo will be back with more!!

The Cat Channel, the site run by the publisher of Cat Fancy, I Love Cats, and many other animal publications, just launched their new site at http://www.catchannel.com/! (Their new logo has a kitty that reminds us of Leo as a kitten!)
You can enter contests for “Fluffiest Tail,” and “Best Smile,” and “Best Mustache” (Leo could win that, maybe, see his mustache below:)

A new feature is Club Cat, where you can create a free webpage for your cat and earn points that you can redeem for prizes such as cat books and a 1 yr subscription to Cat Fancy magazine (ok, so far the prizes aren’t very exciting, but I’m sure they’ll be adding more).
They will also have daily contests starting September 13th, 2006 and running through September 18th and will be giving out prizes every day! Our very own Paw Path Litter Mat will be one of the prizes for those 6 days!
They also have sections on kittens, cat nutrition & behavior, articles written by cat experts, a section devoted to cat litter, cat toys, a cat forum, fun things like cat e-cards, and lots of other stuff. We found that the site is a tad hard to navigate, but overall we like the new look.
So see it for yourselfs and try your luck with the contests next week. Check it out at www.catchannel.com
*Please note that you cannot contact CatChannel.com or Cat Fancy Magazine through this blog by leaving a comment. Please got to www.catchannel.com to find contact information for the magazine. Thank you!
